The Porcupine Warriors were billed to host the winner of Cameroon FA Cup between Eding Sport FC and Lion Blesse de Foutouni in the first leg on November 28, with the second leg taking place a week later in Cameroon. However, the game couldn't come off as scheduled due to the political situation in the country, forcing Caf to declare Kotoko winners of the tie.
A statement from the African football's governing body reads: Matches #37&38 are cancelled because the deadline for Fecafoot (Cameroon FA) to confirm the engagement of second rep for Total CAF Confederation Cup has elapsed. Asante Kotoko is therefore qualified to the 1/16th round.
Kotoko will now play the winner between Kariobangi Sharks of Kenya and ARTA Solar of Djibouti in the first round. The first leg has been scheduled between December 14 and 16.
