Yartey 28, moved to the Colvoray Stadium outfit as a free agent after stints with clubs like Benfica, FC Sion, Sochaux Gil Vicente, and others
The ex-Black Starlets winger revealed that it had been 60 days of discussions with the Nyon top hierarchy and he decided to join the team since it was his desire to get a lot of playing time.
"Yes, I am free. I tried to find a new path in my career. It had been two months that I have been talking with the leaders of Nyonnais.
At the end of September, as I didn’t want to stay at home, without competition, I thought to myself that it was important to find fun in games. It’s my life, it is necessary that I play." Yartey told Sivtelegram after signing his contract.
Despite showing early promise as a teenager, Yartey is yet to play to his full potential even though he still has big ambitions of making it to the top of his career.
"I know that my qualities are still there. I still dream of playing at the highest level. I had options abroad with clubs in Malta and Bulgaria but I didn’t want to go there so I chose Nyon. It is a good club that wants to ride in the 2nd division, which is an interesting challenge. I want to help them to achieve this goal. I have signed up for the season and we’ll see," he explains his latest choice.
