The former Las Palmas forward was rested in Sassuolo UD's 2-0 win over SPAL on Thursday as a precaution to ensure he is in tip-top condition for the crucial league encounter with the Rossoneri.
The 31-year-old is however expected to make a return to the starting line-up against a club where he made his mark, between 2010 and 2013- he won the Scudetto with Milan in 2011.
