Dwamena, who signed a four-year contract with the Valencia-based side, said he made the choice to play in the La Liga because it offered him the best chance to improve as a player.
"It was important for me to find opportunities not only at a football level and what is available at Levante led me to make this choice. It is a step for me to develop my career in football and to go up one more level," Dwamena said on Monday when he was unveiled at the Estadio Ciutat de València.
"The League is one of the best in the world. I am very happy with this step in my career. It's good for my personal and professional growth. I'm delighted to be able to play against all the good players in the league, against Real Madrid and Barcelona. B?but we have to focus on Levante."
The 22-year-old will be in good company at his new club where he teams up with compatriot, Emmanuel Boateng, who convinced his Black Stars colleague that Levante was his best destination in Europe.
"Before coming here I had heard a lot about the club. I had talked with Boateng and he told me that it is a team that helps African players a lot. I had very good feelings about Levante and from that moment I was convinced to come here. Playing with Boateng can help me," he admitted.
"I was able to go to CSKA but I already had the Levante offer. I spoke with my agent and I wanted to go to a club that gave me the possibility to take this step in my career and had very good feelings with Levante."
Dwamena joins the La Liga side with a good reputation having scored 25 goals in 56 matches for FC Zurich last season.
Last summer a proposed move to Brighton and Hove Albion fell through at the eleventh hour as the English Premiership side pulled out of the transfer after the Ghanaian failed a club medical due to a reported heart condition, having previously agreed personal terms with the Seagulls.
On Monday, Dwamena sounded philosophical about his failed England move and said it was God's own way of paving the way for him to play in Spain a year on.
"God has helped me not to be in England now. He did not want me to be there at that moment. A year ago, I had a chance to play in England but the doctors told me I was not going to play football anymore. Now I'm here. I'm ready and surrounded by good people and in a perfect club, so I'm very happy. "
Dwamena made his international debut on June 11, 2017 in an African Cup of Nations qualifier, scoring a brace in Ghana's 5-0 victory against Ethiopia in Kumasi. Read Full Story
