Maafo contends Alhaji Short, whom well-meaning bigwigs of the party see as the best candidate in the race, will likely win the heart of the President in the upcoming contest in June.
“His overall support is ticking up by the day, and I won’t be surprised that he’ll win the hearts of both the President, Vice President and all others who’ll be voting from the Jubilee House,” he stated in an interview with host Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM.
Alhaji Short has picked nomination forms for his chairmanship bid at the party’s Headquarters in Accra.
The aspirant who’ll compete against the likes of Acting National Chairman, Freddy Blay, three-time aspirant Stephen Ntim, believes he’s in pole position to win the election due to his superior track record in the party.
Alhaji Short who has been at the helm of affairs for three consecutive terms believes his experiences at the grassroots level is key to keep the party winning elections.
