A fortnight ago, Owusu was on target for the Porcupine Warriors when he connected home an Emmanuel Gyamfi well-taken cross in the 52nd minute to secure a 1-0 win for Kotoko over Inter Allies in their Week Two fixture played at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Last Wednesday, Owusu scored Kotoko’s first goal with a beautiful volley against Ebusua Dwarfs to seal a 2-0 win for Kotoko against Ebusua Dwarfs in a mid-week fixture.
Speaking with the Graphic Sports yesterday, the winger insisted Kotoko will repeat the dose they dealt Dreams two seasons ago when the two sides met at the same venue saying: “We beat Dreams at Dawu the last time we met and we will beat them again and even if we don’t beat them we will make sure to pick a point at Dawu,” he said.
The 28-year-old player continued: “Generally, we are looking forward to win the trophy. That is the target and expectation of management, technical team, the players and the supporters too, so we can’t take chances, especially against Dreams on Sunday.”
Owusu joined Kotoko from Brong Ahafo-based Berekum Chelsea and is turning heads at the Baba Yara Stadium.
In 2015, Kotoko’s lethal striker was adjudged the club’s Best Player for the Month of August at the end of the then First Capital Plus-sponsored Premier League.
The former Gamba All Blacks player picked the honour with 38.3 percent of votes, ahead of Eric Ofori Antwi and Dauda Mohammed who bagged 34.8 per cent and 26.73 per cent respectively.
The award scheme introduced by technology software developer, Jimatech, was aimed at motivating Kotoko players to give of their best.
