Coventry investigate deal for Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi

Caleb Yirenkyi, the 20-year-old Ghanaian midfielder at Nordsjaelland, has been linked with a move to Coventry.

The central midfielder is currently playing in Denmark’s Superliga but could be the subject of interest from Coventry, who are listed as the club linked with a transfer to England’s Premier League.

Yirenkyi has started all four of Nordsjaelland’s competitive matches so far this season, featuring twice in the Superliga and twice in UEFA Conference League qualifying. He has completed every available minute across those games, although he has not scored or provided an assist.

He also featured for Ghana at the 2026 World Cup, making four appearances and scoring once. He started three of those matches and played 73% of Ghana’s available minutes during the tournament.

Yirenkyi joined Nordsjaelland’s academy from Right to Dream in January 2024 before progressing from the club’s under-19 side to the senior team in February 2025. His market value is listed at €18m.

Any potential deal would have to take account of the midfielder’s existing contract, which runs until 30 June 2030. He remains a Nordsjaelland player and has continued to play a full role in the club’s opening fixtures of the 2026-27 campaign.
