Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has delivered the latest update on the intense speculation surrounding Antoine Semenyo, revealing that "nothing has been agreed" between the clubs for the transfer of the Ghanaian forward to Manchester City.
Despite widespread reports stating a deal is imminent and that City are prepared to trigger his release clause, Iraola clarified the current status in a pre-match press conference.
"I think it could be the last game [for Semenyo]," he said, referencing the upcoming match against Tottenham Hotspur. "That is my personal opinion, but there is nothing agreed and nothing signed."
The Spanish coach directly addressed the transfer rumours, stating, "It is my personal opinion, as I understand the market and the noise, but there is nothing agreed right now." He concluded by affirming the player's present standing: "He right now is our player, and I hope it continues."
Semenyo's excellent form this seasonâwith nine goals and three assists in 19 Premier League gamesâhas made him a prime target.
While Iraola's comments suggest a move is highly probable based on the "noise", they confirm that the final hurdles have yet to be cleared, leaving the high-profile transfer in a state of advanced negotiation but not completion.
