Ghana international Inaki Williams is happy to be back in the Athletic Bilbao squad following a lengthy injury lay-off.
The Black Stars attacker spent the last two months on the sidelines while nursing an injury. Williams made his return to action as a substitute against Celta Vigo on Sunday, managing 45 minutes in the sides 2-0 away defeat in the Spanish La Liga.
The enterprising attacker suffered an injury setback in October in the Champions League clash against Qarabag FK, where his outfit cruised to a 3-1 victory on home turf.
Having missed several games for club and country in the period, Williams marked his return to action for Athletic Bilbao.
â"I felt good, growing into the game little by little. Despite the training, the most important thing is competing. I’m happy to be back and to be able to contribute as soon as possible." He said.
The first half of the match ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams threaded cautiously in the encounter. Putting on a stellar performance after recess, the home team managed to score two goals to secure maximum points.
Sweden international Williot Swedberg opened the scoring in the 48th-minute mark before Jones El-Abdellaoui scored to cement victory for the host.
The 31-year-old forward has had a modest performance since the commencement of the 2025/26 football campaign. He has made 13 appearances across competitions for the San Mames outfit, scoring just a goal in the process.
