Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has expressed excitement after scooping the October Player of the Month award in the English Championship.
Thomas-Asante scored six goals including two braces in the month as Coventry City headed into the international break top of the Championship table.
“I’m super happy to win the October Player of the Month award and I’m very happy with how football’s going right now," he told Coventry City's media.
The 26-year-old also expressed gratitude to Frank Lampard, who won the Manager of the Month, and his teammates for their support.
“I’m really grateful and appreciative of the moment, playing under the manager, Joe (Edwards) and Chris (Jones) â they’ve been amazing for me in the time we’ve been working together and I’m trying to learn from them and repay the faith that they’ve put in me," he added.
“The performances are only, in my honest opinion, thanks to the support on and off the field from my teammates and I’m really enjoying being part of this amazing squad.
“I feel like that’s been the real change and benefit that I’m enjoying playing with so many top players and people."
Although the former West Bromwich Albion striker has hit double figures in goals this season, Thomas-Asante says he is far from his personal targets.
He continued: “The targets I set for myself at the start of the season are high and although I’m happy I’ve met the targets other people had for me, the ones that I’ve got for myself I’m still a long way away from so there’s a lot more work to do.
“All glory to God as well because there’s been tough times but the faith that I know the lord has a plan to for me, I’m grateful that’s seen me through to moments like this."
Thomas-Asante started for the Black Stars in their 2-0 friendly defeat to Japan.
