The Super Eagles held a training session on Wednesday evening at the Institut Royal de Formation des Cadres in Rabat, with 24 players taking part as preparations continue for Thursday’s crucial African play-off against Gabon.
The session comes after a brief strike over a bonus dispute with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), which was resolved earlier in the day following intervention by the National Sports Commission (NSC).

Captain William Troost-Ekong confirmed the squad’s return to training on his X account, stating: “Issue resolved. Outstanding financials cleared and on ground. The team is united and focused as before on representing Nigeria with our maximum for the games ahead.”
The winner of the Nigeria vs Gabon tie will face the victor of Cameroon vs DR Congo in the final, with the overall winner advancing to the intercontinental playoff ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
