Karela United and Dreams FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw on Sunday at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, as Malik Abubakar’s early strike was cancelled out by Seidu Suraj shortly after the restart.
Abubakar gave the home side the perfect start in the sixth minute, controlling a loose ball outside the penalty area before firing a powerful drive into the back of the net. Dreams FC responded immediately after halftime, with Seidu Suraj converting in the 46th minute to level the score.
Karela dominated possession and created more chances, taking 13 shots compared to Dreams’ four, with five on target. Despite this, the home side were frustrated by their inability to convert opportunities. Dreams, by contrast, were clinical in making the most of their limited chances.
The draw leaves Karela United in ninth place on the league table, while Dreams FC remain 13th. Karela will aim to bounce back in their next game against defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars, while Dreams FC host Hohoe United, hoping to climb the standings.
