The National Sports Authority (NSA) has issued a strong reminder to organisers of Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Homecoming concert that the Baba Yara Stadium pitch must remain strictly off-limits during the event.
NSA Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, confirmed that while the stadium has been approved as the venue, the football pitch itself cannot be used under any circumstances.
“We will ensure he [Sarkodie] doesn’t damage the Baba Yara pitch. Using the venue is permitted, but the pitch is prohibited. If there’s any breach of this arrangement, there will be serious penalties,” Ampofo Ankrah said.
The Baba Yara Stadium is a key ground for the Black Stars and serves as home to several Ghana Premier League fixtures.
With important matches ahead, the NSA is working to safeguard the condition of the playing surface while accommodating the high-profile concert.
