Ghana international Alexander Djiku has reflected on Fenerbahces elimination from the UEFA Europa League campaign, insisting the club is eternal despite the setback.The Turkish giants bowed out of the competition on Thursday night after falling short to Scottish outfit Rangers.The Black Stars defender made a brief appearance as Fenerbahce triumphed with a 2-0 victory over Rangers in the return fixture of the Round 16 clash, held at the Ibrox Stadium.Djiku was introduced in the 88th-minute, replacing Turkey international Mert Mldr following an injury setback.Before the return clash, the Turkish giants had succumbed to a humiliating 3-1 home defeat. However, Fenerbahce staged a strong comeback in the second leg to level the score.With no additional goal in the extra-time, the game travelled to penalties with Rangers emerging victorious 3-2 on penalties to progress to the quarterfinals of the Europa League campaign.Djiku has, however, expressed his disappointment following their elimination but insists the club is eternal.Once again, we are all very disappointed with this European Cup exit. Fenerbahce is eternal he wrote on Instagram.The 30-year-old Ghanaian defender made 8 appearances in the Europa League, scoring one goal across the period. In all competitions, Djiku has made 31 appearances under seasoned manager Jose Mourinho, contributing one goal.Djiku will travel to join the Black Stars this weekend for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers after making Otto Addos 23-man squad.
