Former Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovi? is demanding $40,000 to take up the position as head coach of the Fiji national team, the country's Football Association president Rajesh Patel has revealed.
The amount is to take care of Stefanovic and his four coaching staff.
Stefanovic, managed Ghana between 2010-2011, is among eight applicants who have been shortlisted for the job.
"Myself, the technical directory and the acting national team director will finalise who we shortlisted for the interview,” Patel said.
"We will have to consider our financial position. Out technical director spoke to Stevanovic who wanted to come with four staff and asking US$40,000 per month.”
Patel added the Fiji National Sports Commission usually pays for the national coach.
Stevanovi? led Ghana to a fourth-place finish at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations before his departure.
Since leaving Ghana, the Serbian has managed four clubs. He is currently the manager of China League Two club Qingdao Jonoon.
