Philadelphia Union winger David Accam says the quality in the Major League Soccer is better than that of Sweden, insisting the MLS can be compared with some of Europe's top leagues.
David Accam spent two years in Sweden, where he played for Östersunds FK and Helsingborg, scoring 39 goals in 76 games.
But he moved to the Major League Soccer in 2015 to join Chicago Fire where he excelled before switching to the Philadelphia Union.
Having played in both Europe and the United States, the 28 year-old believes the MLS has more quality that the Swedish Allveskan league.
“Many think MLS can’t be compared to Europe but I played in Sweden and I play in MLS now and I think the quality in MLS is higher than Sweden,” he said in an interview with Citi TV.
“Now the League is growing, they have a lot of young players coming in, young good players from South America and it is making the MLS very interesting.
The winger is in Ghana after the 2018 season and took time off to marry his girlfriend and Black Queens forward Florence Dadson.
Accam is expected to leave for preseason with the new MLS season scheduled to start in March 2019.
