Head coach of the national U-23 team, Ibrahim Tanko has called on fans in Kumasi to come out in numbers to support the Black Meteors to victory against Togo in the AFCON U-23 qualifiers.
The Black Meteors will host their Togolese counterparts at the Baba Yara sports stadium on Tuesday.
Ahead of the crucial encounter, Tanko, who also doubles as assistant coach of the national team explained the reason for picking the Baba Yara Stadium for the qualifier.
”We chose to play the game here because of the fans. The fans in kumasi have always support the National team no matter what. The players always feel at home in Kumasi. I’m calling on the supporters to come and push us that Victory,” He told Footballmadeinghana.com
Ibrahim Tanko reveals the morale is camp has been positive and the former Dortmund forward is confident of success on Tuesday.
”The moral in camp is very high. The local and the foreign players are relating very well. And the on the pitch they are jelling very well. I’m sure we will be ready by Tuesday.”
The qualifiers serves as a route for the Africa U-23 championship in Egypt. The Championship in Egypt will be used as qualifiers for Tokyo 2020.
