Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri could hand starting berths to Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ethan Ampadu in tonight’s UEFA Europa League dead-rubber clash against MOL Vidi.
The Blues have cruised through Group L, winning all of their five matches and guaranteeing top spot with a game to spare, rendering the Vidi clash meaningless.
However, the game is of huge importance to their opponents, who must better the result of BATE Borisov away at PAOK in order to qualify for the knockout stages.
With Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri having used the competition to give his fringe players an opportunity to impress, he is expected to give exciting prospects like Ampadu and Hudson-Odoi starting places in tonight’s game.
The Italian confirmed that Kepa Arrizabalaga, Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta, N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard will all be rested ahead of the Premier League clash with Brighton on Sunday.
Callum Hudson-Odoi, the 18-year-old winger, is expected to start once again after grabbing his first senior goal for the club in the 4-0 victory over PAOK.
And an injury for club captain Gary Cahill means Ethan Ampadu, also 18, could start in defence.
