Former Black Stars defender Sam Johnson insists Ghana lost to Kenya in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier because the team lacked a leader on the pitch.
In the absence of Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew, coach Kwesi Appiah has rotated the captain's armband with Thomas Partey and Daniel Amartey the players to have assumed the mantle.

The team has come under heavy criticisms and former Fenerbache and ex-Black Stars defender Sam Johnson has rather attributed the defeat to the lack of a leader on the pitch.
“We have very good players in the national team only that there is no leader amongst them. Every team needs a leader on the field of play to drive the team on when things are not going well like it happened in Kenya”, he told Asempa FM.
Meanwhile, coach Kwesi Appiah has continuously dropped Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew since they last played in the 1-1 draw against Congo in the World Cup qualifier in Kumasi.
