Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has revealed that Kwadwo Asamoah has picked a minor injury during the team's training on Wednesday morning at the Ethiopian Youth Sports Academy ground in Addis Ababa where the team is based.
Asamoah arrived in Addis Ababa on Tuesday night to join the rest of the players as they prepare for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya.
The 29-year-old last played for the Black Stars against Portugal at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil where Ghana lost 2-1 to exit the tournament.
“He had a small injury. Just that I don’t want to put a problem for him to make it worse. It is important we treat it and then he trains slowly.” Kwesi Appiah told freelance Ethiopian journalist Omna Taddele Gebru as reported by FootballmadeinGhana.com in an exclusive interview.
Asamoah has started the Serie A campaign strongly starting all of Inter Milan’s three league games but this represents the latest reverse against the player’s return to selection and is expected to be fit for the Kenya game.
