Former English Premier League side Swansea City have issued a strong worded response to Crystal Palace manager Roy Hudson on his comments about Jordan Ayew's unavailability in the Carabao Cup game.
The Ghana international, who joined the Eagles on transfer deadline day was ineligible to play against his former side following the arrangement of the loan deal between the two sides.
Ayew missed Crystal Palace's 1-0 win over Swansea on Tuesday night, with manager Roy Hudson furious over being unable to use the striker.
His comments after the game did not sit well with Ayew's parent club, who wanted a deal that would have seen Jairo Riedewald join the Welsh club.
Palace had the opportunity to complete a permanent deal for the wantaway Ghanaian but Jairo Riedewald would not move the other way as part of the transfer, and further talks over a cash-only deal ended without agreement.
“The standard loan agreement clearly states that Jordan is not permitted to play against his parent club," said Swansea's spokesperson.
“If Palace disagreed with this, then they should not have signed the loan agreement – or instead signed him on a permanent transfer.’’
