Controversial Ghanaian coach Bashir Hayford has launched a stinging potshot at local journalists, claiming they ask 'unintelligent questions'.
Hayford, who has often courted controversy in the West African nation, passed a damning verdict on the quality of journalists in the country.
The former Asante Kotoko and Medeama coach has had several cold-shouldered encounters with the local sports media for more than a decade.
But he says he has been unfairly criticised in his dealings with the local media, claiming journalists in Ghana ask unintelligent questions.
“I am not snobbish. It’s just that the media doesn’t understand me as a teacher who has been designing tests for students," he told Starr Sports.
“You have to know what you want out of the question. If you give me thought-provoking questions, I will give you thought-provoking answers so it depends on the questions.If I am to mark your questions, most of you will fail. The questions should make people think.”
