Ghanaian winger Albert Adomah saw his 88th-minute penalty saved as Aston Villa were knocked out of the English League Cup by Burton Albion on Tuesday night.
The 30-year-old was one of the poorer performances on the night and missed a last-minute penalty which could have saved Villa.
Adomah begun last season in brilliant form, and became one of Villa’s most feared attackers.
However, the experienced wide-man has just not kept those standards up, with the Ghanian struggling to score more recently.
Adomah could now be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, especially as Yannick Bolasie has just been added to Villa’s squad.
Bruce’s side are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Sheffield United.
