Medeama midfielder Justice Blay has converted to Islam, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
His conversion brings to mind a number of local players who have converted to Islam from a different religion or from no religion.
Blay, who has been a key member of the Mauve and Yellows for the past two seasons has taken the Shahada (the declaration of faith affirming the oneness of God and the acceptance of Muhammad as His prophet) and changed his name to Rashid.
The highly-rated midfielder has kept his religious beliefs private.
But Ghana's leading football website, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm the former Hasaacas star has joined a list of local players who have converted to Islam.
It's unclear if his Muslim mates in the Medeama team played any significant role in his conversion.
The box-to-box midfielder is an influential member of the Medeama squad, churning out mind-blowing performances on weekly basis.
