Germany defender Jerome Boateng has disclosed he thought of a transfer away from Bayern Munchen in the summer due to match playing time.
The centre back who can also be deployed as a right back had his 2016/2017 season marred with consistent injuries which saw featured only 13 times for the Bavarians.
More so, Boateng believes he could have seen more match actions but former manager Carlo Ancelotti lost faith in him due to the times he spent on the sidelines.
The whole situation frustrated the 29 year old as he considered a summer departure from the German giants.
"Maybe because I played not that much with him as coach, he saw me as less because of my injuries," Boateng told Kicker.
“I had a conversation with the leaders about how they see me in the summer, I said I was thinking about it (a transfer)."
The Italian gaffer was sacked after a 3-0 thrashing by Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League weeks ago.
He has been replaced by Jupp Heyckes who is returning to the club for a third stint as manager.
