Head coach of Hacken Mikael Stahre has revealed that Ghanaian striker Mohammed Nasiru could face a spell on the sideline following a facial injury he sustained in the 1-0 loss to Malmo on Sunday.
Nasiru, 23, was forced out of the game with just 16 minutes on the clock following a severe clash with Peruvian attacker Yoshimar Yotun.
The Ghanaian was crumbling in the face and Yotun went to apologize to him but Nasiru could not continue and had to retire from the game.
Speaking to reporters after game, Mikael Stahre said,” Nasiru is crumbling in the face. He has bruised all over.”
Stahre continued, “A kick huh?
However, Nasir Mohammed himself was in good spirit after the game.
“It does not look good, but I feel good. I tried to use my head to take the ball from him, but he came in with his legs and the underside of his foot hit my face.”
Nasiru was asked if he feared the worst after injury, “Yes, I just went to the ball and did not see him, but it is what it is.”
Häcken doctor Fredrik Bergström also gave his thought on the unfortunate incident.
"Blessing in disguise. He has a wound that runs between the eyes and down his cheek. Could not stop the bleeding, because we changed."
"It could have been, how a wound in the eye, you think what could have happened."
