Ebusua Dwarfs inflicted first defeat of the season on Aduana Stars in week 8 of the Ghana Premier League at the Cape-Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday.
A 29th minute goal by in-form striker Nicholas Guan set the tone for Dwarfs before Osman Mohammed doubled the lead for the home side just before half time.
The Ogya boys came out more determined in the second half as they searched for the equalizer but the resolute defence of the home team stood firm.
However, substitute striker Tanko Mohammed reduced the deficit in the 62nd minute for the away side.
Aduana piled pressure on the home side as they search for the equalizer in the dying embers but Dwarfs held on to break the 100% record of their opponents in this season's league.
Aduana Stars maintained their top spot despite the setback with 17 points from eight games but have played a game more than second place side Asante Kotoko.
