Nkawie, (Ash), Dec. 19, GNA – Three persons who conspired to produced fake documents and succeeded in selling a plot of land to a farmer at Asuofua in the Atwima-Nwabiagya North District, have been remanded into prison custody by the Nkawie circuit court.
George Kofi Noah 23, Otuo Acheampong 23 and Owusu Banahene 47, are said to have used the documents to sell the building plot at the cost of GH¢20,000.00 to the farmer, of which the documents were later detected to be fake.
They were reported to the police who arrested and charged them for forgery and fraud.
Their pleas were not taken and would reappear before the court presided over by Mr Michael Johnson Abbey on January 10, 2020.
Detective Chief Inspector Comfort Amankwaa told the court that the three were residents of Suame in the Suame Municipality, while the complainant resided at Kenyasi Abirem in the Kwabre East Municipality.
She said in March this year, the three showed an allocation paper, a site plan, an indenture and other fake documents of a building plot at Asuofua and succeeded in convincing the complainant to buy.
Chief Inspector Amankwaa said when the complainant went to the site, she was prevented by another person who was in the process of constructing a house.
She said when the complainant presented her documents to the elders of the town, it was detected they were fake.
A report was made to the Suame police and the three were arrested and brought before the court.
