Bolgatanga, Dec 16, GNA – The Ghana News Agency has received four awards at the maiden edition of the Upper East Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) awards held in Bolgatanga.
Three journalists of the Agency won four awards and were among the nine media practitioners honoured in various categories for their sterling performance in 2018.
Mrs Fatima Anafu-Astanga, a Chief Reporter with the Agency received two awards, best Environment and Sanitation reporter, and the Best Business and Financial Reporter.
Mr Anthony Adongo Apubeo, a NABCO Personnel with the agency also won the best Child Rights reporter, while Mr Godfred Polkuu, a Stringer, was adjudged the most promising journalist of the year.
Six other journalists were also awarded in various categories.
They are; Joshua Asaah, A1 Radio, best Agriculture reporter, Stephen Ngamegbulam Chidozie A1 Radio, best Human Rights, Albert Sore, Joynews, best Investigative reporter, Isaac Asare (GBC), best health reporter and best domestic tourism reporter, Senyalah Castro, Ghanaweb/Atink media, best gender and disability reporter and Nelson Abagna, GBC, best sports reporter.
Ura Radio (GBC) was adjudged the best radio station of the year, while Tanga Radio took home best social radio programme of the year award.
