Accra, Dec. 12, GNA – Accra Hearts of Oak has secured the services of former national goalkeeper, Ben Owu as their Goalkeeper’s Trainer.
Owu, was a member of the historic national under-17 team, the Black Starlets that won the 1991 Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup.
Information gathered by the GNA Sports reveals that, Owu’s presence on the technical team, was at the request of Head Coach Kim Grant.
According to the information, the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) License B holder was introduced to the playing body last Tuesday and was expected to start work on Thursday, December 12.
The former national goalie, signed a one-year deal with the club, after which the contract would be subjected to renewal pending his output.
Owu is expected on the bench on Sunday, when Hearts takes on Asante Kotoko in the return leg of the 2019 President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
