Ho, Dec. 04, GNA - The Police in Ho on Wednesday picked 21 persons demonstrating against the trial of the so-called Homeland Study Group Foundation (HSGF), for unlawful assembly.
The suspects, including a woman are in police custody assisting investigations.
A press statement signed Corporal Prince Dogbatse, Public Relations Officer at the Volta Regional Police Command alleged that the suspects, between 26 and 70 years, had come from some parts of the Region to demonstration in Ho against the trial of the seven on the charges of treason.
The statement said the group's "continuous agitation is unlawful and a recipe for the breach of the peace in the country," and warned against such acts.
The statement asked the public to provide information to the police on such activities and assured all of a safe and secure environment for law abiding citizens to go about their businesses without fear or panic.
