Accra, Dec. 3, GNA - MTN Ghana says it is working to address recent challenges involving data volumes that customers received and gave the assurance that the system issues would soon be resolved.
Some of the issues involve customers receiving data volumes significantly lower than they expect, transactional failures, when buying bundle with mobile money and unfamiliar functionality, which most customers were not used to.
Briefing the media, Mr Selorm Adadevoh, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, said most of the challenges with mobile money purchases were addressed and that customers who bought data and did not get value were duly refunded.
“We’ve also looked at the MoMo functionality and that issue has been resolved,” adding that the company would implement data correction measures to ensure that customers get the exact volume of data on their purchases.
MTN will also bring back specific bundles that customers requested.
Mr Adadevoh said MTN would also give back to customers who purchased data bundles between December 1 and 3 the same value of data bought as a way to express the company’s appreciation to them during the challenging time.
He said the challenges arose because of the pricing mechanism to implement the Communication Service Tax across a broad range of products and the desire to offer customers flexibility and value.
Mr Adadevoh said that the company would continue to monitor the technical challenges.
