Akim Oda (E/R), Nov. 19, GNA - Mr Akwasi Boakye – Yiadom, the Acting Birim Central Municipal National Service Secretariat Coordinator, has called on National Service personnel to take up leadership roles whenever such positions are available.
He said countries develop when the youth of those countries assume leadership positions at the various sectors of the country.
Mr Boakye-Yiadom said this when eight National Service Personnel in the Birim Central Municipality picked forms at Akim Oda to contest the executive positions of the National Service Personnels Association (NASPA) at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region.
The executive positions available are President, Vice President, Financial Secretary and Organising Secretary.
The election is slated to occur on November 22 at the Birim Central Municipal Assembly Hall.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr George Akomea Ankrah, an aspiring presidential candidate of the association, said it is a great opportunity for him to contest for the position and was hopeful to win on the election day.
