Accra, Nov 14, GNA - The Akrofo Human and Ecological/Environment and Resource Development Centre has launched the Lewef Vinegar, a new product which serves as food and medicine.
It would also support the production of vinegar in the country.
The product, which was launched on Thursday in Accra had many health benefits that could be used by everyone.
Dr Elias K Asiama, the Chief Executive Officer mentioned the benefits as; for treatment of malnutrition, stimulation of activities of the brain, clearing of the arteries and advised that foods should be grown the natural way devoid of chemicals.
The Akrofo Human and Ecological/Environment and Resource Development Centre was established in 1998 and aims at preserving nature and the environment for posterity and also as a research centre.
The Centre produces natural products including; Honey and some natural spices.
He said Ghana was rich in natural resources and could export more with the right support to develop the economy.
The CEO said vinegar was food and could be used for various medicinal purposes adding that, it also served as disinfectants and lotion.
He said the Lewef vinegar could be used in preparing salads for households and commercial purposes hence the need to get vinegar in every home.
He called on stakeholders and the public to support people with developmental ideas and initiatives that would be beneficial to citizens and enhance development in the country.
Mr Richard Adjei, a consultant in High Education and the Chairman, congratulated Dr Asiama on the product launch and advised the public to be ambassadors of the product as it had lots of benefits and could serve as source of employment for those who may engage in sales.
