Tumu (U/W), July 28, GNA – Master Francis Seidu Adongo, a 24-year-old tiler, was stabbed to death last Friday at Tumu in the Sissala East Municipality of the Upper West Region.
He was pronounced dead by upon arrival at the Tumu Municipal Hospital around 0200hrs.
Master Adongo, who is popularly known in Tumu as ‘Hallagbe’, met his untimely death last Friday dawn when he attended a vacation jams at the Tumu Community Centre.
Master Mohammed Bakuwie, a friend of the deceased and an eyewitness, said he and his friend were about entering the Centre to take part in the jams when the suspect, Kachuu Gargo, emerged from the dark side of the gate to stab him on the chest.
Master Bakuwie said the deceased after the attack attempted running but fell twice to the ground on the Centre where the suspect again followed up to him and inflicted more stabbings.
“This then compelled me to also run for my dear life”, he said.
Master Bakuwie said the attack was sudden and a surprise as he and his deceased friend were not involved in any altercation with the suspect.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Stephen Abanga said the suspect is currently on the run and efforts are being made to arrest him.
DSP Abanga called on the citizens to volunteer information on the whereabouts of the suspect so that he could be arrested as quickly as possible to face the law.
The body of the deceased has since been released to the family for burial.
