Ejura (Ash), June 11, GNA – The Ghana Baptist Men’s Ministry of the Ghana Baptist Convention, has presented hospital items worth GH¢10,000.00 to the Ejura Government Hospital.
The gift items which included large size of oxygen concentrator, sucking machine and nebulizer were donated to climax the 25th anniversary celebration of the Men’s Ministry.
It also formed part of the Ministry’s social responsibility initiatives to promote good healthcare delivery in rural communities to save lives.
Reverend Charles Oppong-Poku, the Mid-Ghana Sector Head of the Convention, was assisted by Mr Collins Boakye-Yiadom, the National President of the Men’s Ministry, to present the gifts.
He expressed the hope that the items would go a long way to help reduce referral of certain medical cases to bigger hospitals, such as Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
“As Baptists, we existed to serve humanity not only with the word of God, but also to promote their health and wellbeing,” he added.
Reverend Oppong-Poku asked the Hospital authorities to put the items to good use and maintain them regularly to serve the community.
Dr Samuel Mensah, Senior Medical Officer in-charge of the Hospital, thanked the Men’s Ministry for the gesture and said the items had come at an opportune time as they needed machines of that nature to treat various cases at the facility.
