Mr Sam explained that the Assembly decided to put up the markets following the difficulties the market women go through in their daily activities.
He said it was also to ensure that trading in the three communities was conducted in a clean and healthy environment.
The MCE noted that, the sheds so far provided in the markets would not be enough for all the market women and pleaded with those who may not get the sheds to exercise patients since expansion works would soon be done in the markets.
He hinted that the Assembly, through the Member of Parliament for the area Mr Joe Ghartey, secured funds from the government to start the construction of additional 16 lockable stores for the people of Kojokrom.
Mr Sam said with funds from the District Development Fund (DDF), litter bins would be provided at the market place to keep it clean.
The MCE advised the market women to desist from harassing revenue collectors and urged them to pay their taxes and levies since it’s the major source of funds of the Assembly to implement development projects in the Metropolis.
