“I was old enough when a similar rivalry between the late Tupac Amaru Shakhur and Christopher Wallace, aka Notorious BIG, ensued in America. Because the American public did not take a diplomatic stance on the rivalry to quell the flames, the two ended up being shot dead.
“I don’t think we want a similar occurrence in Ghana and so I ask that we all act maturely around the issue so that we can get the two of them to sit round the table and smoke the peace pipe,” Moshake said.
Speaking on an interview with the Ghana News Agency on the fracas between the two musicians in Accra, Mr. Ashitey Adjei, who is popularly known as Moshake, said a serious rivalry between the two.
His advice was in reaction to some commentators, including security experts who stated that Stonebwoy should be arrested for brandishing a gun at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The Bhim Nation leader drew his piece, when Shata Wale marched on to the stage with a throng of thugs after Stonebwoy had been announced as the winner of the Dance Hall Artiste of the year category.
Shatta, who had no business being on stage, is believed to have mounted it to attack Stonebwoy, something that provoked the ‘Kpoo Keke’ hit maker to draw his gun.
Fortunately, the Police was available to quell the altercation before it became deadly.
In the aftermath of the incident, fans are taking sides, while some security experts are calling for the arrest of at least Stonebowy, for possessing a firearm in public.
“I don’t agree with those calling for the arrests, because such an action would only inflame passions the more. Don’t forget that both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have crews who are willing to kill for them.
“If any of them were to be arrested, it is easy to foresee that his crew will hit town and attack the rival crew for vengeance. Such chaos is the last thing we want on our hands at a time that we have vigilantism, tribal conflicts and a potential terrorist strike on our hands to deal with,” Moshake said.
He called on both the Bhim Nation and the Shatta Movement camps to exercise restraint and show maturity.
