Koforidua, April 2, GNA - The Koforidua branch of Young Action Movement (YAM), a youth wing of the volunteers of Plan Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), has educated over 100 students of Koforidua Technical University (KTU), on sexually transmitted diseases (STIs).
The education was on protection during sex against STIs and demonstration on the proper wearing of condoms to avoid infections.
The members of YAM embarked on a Room to Room Education at KTU which is part of their strategy to educate the youth.
The Koforidua branch chairman of YAM, Ms Evelyn Sosu in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) explained that, during mass education, there were some people who would never set foot there, and even those who get back there feel shy to ask questions bothering them.
She said when people especially students were in the comfort of their own rooms and with their friends, they felt free and asked a lot of questions.
Ms Sosu called on the Ghana Health Service, National AIDS Commission and Non- Governmental Organisations to support them to send their messages across to the youth.
Mr Laud Tetteh Northey, the Getfund Hall President thanked YAM for making time to be around and called on them to come back so that more of the students in the hall could be reached.
