Peduase (E/R), Mar. 18, GNA — Professor Abednego Okoh Amartey, Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), has called on students to abstain from occultic practice and concentrate on their studies to enable them to achieve academic excellence.
He said it was only when students take their studies seriously that they would achieve academic success and contribute to nation building.
Prof. Amartey made the call at the end of this year’s UPSA Vice chancellor’s Special Health Walk at Peduase, near Aburi in the Eastern Region.
The 4.3-kilometre walk, was on the theme ‘A Healthy Mind is a Healthy Body’.
Prof. Amartey charges Ghanaians to adopt a healthy eating lifestyle and desist from taking fatty foods adding that most of the diseases we get were as a result of the food we take.
He advised the participants to take active interest in physical exercises to ensure good health.
The Vice chancellor urged them to eat enough fruits, vegetables and balanced diet all the time.
Prof. Amartey also advised them to desist from self-medication and to visit qualified health facility anytime they fell sick.
