Ando Tsiyinu (V/R), Jan. 26, GNA - Adanu, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with focus on education, has handed over a three-unit classroom block to the Ando Tsiyinu DA Primary School in the South Dayi District of the Volta region.
It cost GH?35,000.00 to complete and has helped to end the situation where the school children and their teachers held classes under trees.
Mr. Jerry John Kotoka, Coordinator, Projects and Volunteers of the NGO, said he was confident it was going to help prevent absenteeism and suspension of academic work during bad weather.
He commended the people for supporting the project with labour and encouraged parents and guardians to put premium on the education of their children.
Mr. Maxwell Quophi Blagodzi, Deputy Volta Regional Minister, gave high marks to Adanu for the intervention and for helping to ease the pressure on government.
He asked that the NGO extended its support to other hard-to-reach communities.
Mr. Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, Member of Parliament, for South Dayi Constituency promised to provide furniture for the classrooms.
