Accra, Jan. 16, GNA - Yahaya Dauda Gunu, known in the music industry as "Zee Gunu" has said, one of Ghana’s most inspirational musician Abdul Razak Issahaku, also known as “IWAN” has been his role model and the reason he does music.
The upcoming artist, who hails from the Northern Region, in an interview with GNA entertainment indicated that, his music career started at a tender age as a rapper and later developed into singing, when he met his mentor “IWAN”
“Music has always been part of me at my early age.
“I started as a rapper, then changed to both rapping and singing after meeting my role model.
“He transformed me into a singer and has played a major role in my life as an artist and I hope for the best in the coming years,” he said.
Zee Gunu, who has released a new banger titled 360, is making waves in all four corners of both the north and south
He explained that, the songs were inspired love and envy, which mostly occur in ones life as a youth and has a blend of the Northern Ghanaian culture vibe with a bit of Jamaican vibe adding that, his intention was to sell the Northern Culture to the outside world.
“Currently, I have my new single, which is trending in all corners of the north and south titled 360
“360 is one big song that was inspired by our daily love life and envy,” he said.
The Northern artist, has collaborated with some known artist from the North such as Maccasio, Onenira and Nachomba Ratty.
With songs like PU’ME ON, GHANA GIRLS, HIT AND RUN, MR RAP, ALKAEEDA, 360 etc added to his credit, he aims at putting the Northern Ghanaian song on the map.
