Awudua (W/R), December 16, GNA - The management of MTN, a telecommunication company in Ghana and its distributor, Sametro Company Limited has made a donation to the Apinto Traditional Council in support of the Amankuma festival.
The donation included a cash of GH? 3,000, hamper of assorted alcoholic beverages, crates of soft drinks, air time, assorted MTN souvenirs and boxes of mineral drinking water.
Presenting the items, Mr. Simon Amoh, the Regional Senior Manager for Southern and Western regions, stated that the donation was in line with their support to promote Ghanaian culture.
He pointed out that the company was proud to be associated with the celebration of the Amankuma festival.
Mr Amoh expressed gratitude to their cherished customers for being loyal to MTN Ghana.
"We wish them a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance, we will continue to elicit their supports into the coming years" He emphasised.
He called on Ghanaians to continue to patronize their products and services as they give out the best.
Receiving the items, Nana Adarkwa Bediako II, Gyasehene of Apinto Divisional Council, commended the two corporate organizations for the gesture and asked other institutions to emulate same.
The Akumankuma festival is celebrated by the chiefs and people of Awudua in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality of the Western Region.
This year's celebration is on the theme “The ban on small scale mining, its socio-economic impact and the way forward".
