Abesim (B/A), Dec. 14, GNA - Bishop Dr. Richard Owusu-Akyeaw, the Founder and General Overseer of the “Living Grace Ministries International” has urged Ghanaians, particularly leaders to imitate the humility and wisdom of Jesus Christ to be successful in their undertakings.
The Bishop said these virtues were exhibited by Jesus Christ, “the greatest and successful leader ever” because He effectively applied them in dealing with the people during His ministry on earth.
He stressed the need for leaders to make humility and wisdom the driving forces and determinant factors in their decision-makings to serve the best interest of the people.
“It is always fruitful for a leader to understand and portray the spirit of humility and obedience to grow in wisdom”, Bishop Owusu-Akyeaw gave this advice when he was speaking on Sunday night at the Well of Salvation Ministries (WSM) at Abesim, near Sunyani.
The occasion was a programme organised by Prophet Collins Nyarko, the Founder and General Overseer of the WSM and his associate Pastors with the support of Pastors of Charismatic Churches in the Brong-Ahafo Region to recognise and honour him as “a Living Legend” in the “Heavenly Kingdom Business” worthy to be celebrated.
The well attended programme on the theme “We need not to wait for our leaders to die before we write nice tributes about them, let us celebrate them while they are alive “was witnessed by people from all walks of life.
Among them were traditional and religious leaders and political personalities, including Nana Kwaku Sarbeng, the Akwamuhene of Sunyani, who represented Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawri II, the Paramount Chief of Sunyani Traditional Area, Mrs. Evelyn Ama Kumi-Richardson, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, Pastors from different Churches and others trained by him and currently shepherding flocks in Brong-Ahafo and other parts of the country.
He said leading a nation, community, a church, an association, an institution or a corporate organisation required the effective application of divine wisdom as guidance.
Bishop Owusu-Akyeaw urged leaders to avoid hasty decisions and conclusions and rather be focused and exercise restraint to make good decisions to be able to accomplish set targets and goals.
He further admonished, particularly Christian leaders, that they must always be aware of the operations of unseen forces and negative attitudes of people around them, since “even our Lord and Master Jesus Christ was strongly opposed by the leaders of His time.
“Betrayals and disloyalty by trusted ones would come, but that should rather motivate us to exercise maximum patient, humility and application of the wisdom God has given us to deal with those challenges”, Bishop Owusu-Akyeaw concluded.
