Mamfe, Dec 11, GNA - The Kyidom Traditional Council in the Akuapem Traditional Area has donated a set of desk top computer and a printer to the Mamfe Police Station to help provide efficient service to the public.
Four other institutions including the Mamfe Presbyterian, Methodist and Obosomase Junior High Schools (JHS) and the Kyidom Council Secretariat also received a computer each with a printer.
According to the Kyidomhene and Chief of Mamfe, Osabarima Ansah Sasraku, the computers were provided by some Mamfe citizens to support his development agenda of mobilizing support for ailing institutions in the area.
He observed that, the Mamfe Police Station had no computer, so often relied on commercial business centres to type security documents, which he described as not too good for a security institution, hence the donation to equip them in that direction.
He said apart from the computers, the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital at Mampong, currently the only hospital serving the entire people on the Akuapem Ridge had also been presented with a brand new ambulance.
Osabarima Ansah Sasraku, thanked the donors for responding to his appeal and urged other chiefs to rally their people to support government in its development agenda, adding that government alone could not do all.
Police Chief Inspector Collins Frimpong, Station Officer of the Mamfe Police station, thanked the Osabarima for the gesture and assured that it would be used for the intended purpose.
