Accra, Nov.20, GNA - Yusif Abubakar, current coach of the National Under-23 team, the Black Meteors, has died at age 56, the GNA Sports can confirm.
The former Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak trainer, died on Tuesday, November 20, at his family home in Kumasi, after a short illness over the past few weeks.
The astute coach was on admission at the Okomfo Anokye Teching Hospital after complaining of a severe stomach disorder, but was discharge earlier in the week.
His demise will come as great shock to the football fraternity, as he has been mandated to lead Black Meteors' qualification to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The coach has since been buried according to Islamic tradition.
