Accra, Oct.1, GNA - Felix Annan, Kumasi Asante Kotoko short stopper, has earned a call-up into the Black Stars squad ahead of the double header against Sierra Leone in the qualifiers for the 2019 Africa Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
Annan, who has proven beyond all doubts, as one of the best shot stoppers in the country currently, would give competition to Richard Ofori, Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
Coach Kwesi Appiah’s 23-man squad, has captain Asamoah Gyan making a return to the team, as well as Lumor Agbenyenu, Jonathan Mensah, John Boye and Bernard Mensah, Mubarak wakaso and Emmanuel Boateng, who has recovered from his pre-season injury that kept him out of the squad against Kenya.
The Black Stars would take on Sierra Leone on 11th October 2018 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, with a return leg on 14 of October, 2018.
Other members of the squad are; Andy Yiadom, John Boye, Harrison Afful, Jonathan Mensah, Daniel Amartey, Nicholas Opoku and Lumor Agbenyenu (defenders).
The Midfielder would be led by Thomas Partey, Mubarak Wakaso, Afriyie Acquah, Christian Atsu, Nana Ampomah, Thomas Agyapong, Isaac Sackey and Kwadwo Asamoah, as captain Asamoah Gyan, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, Majeed Waris, Emmanuel Boateng and Bernard Mensah complete the striking department.
