Speaking at the annual conference of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) in Abuja, Osinbajo said some of the economic focus of the administration included stabilizing the macroeconomic environment, achieving food security, improving transportation infrastructure and driving industrialization.
"The reasons for prioritizing agriculture is because agriculture is a source of income for small-scale farmers and job creation in larger farms," he said.
"It is also a means to generate stable foreign exchange flows to support the manufacturing and service sectors while conserving foreign exchange that would otherwise be spent on importing food," Osinbajo told his audience.
He said that the government had launched the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) focus lab to unlock medium and large-scale investment projects.
