Accra, Sept 10, GNA - Several parents and guardians’ whose wards are encountering problems gaining admission into Senior High Schools (SHSs) on Monday converged at the Independence Square in Accra, the Placement Resolution Centre for the Double-Track System.
Some parents in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) expressed their frustrations over the challenges they were going through over the inability of the Computerised Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) to allocate schools to their wards.
A parent, speaking under anonymity, said she came all the way from Tamale to the Centre because her ward had not been allocated a school.
Another parent, Nana Kwame Acheampong, said his ward got a placement, but there was no indication as to whether he was in the Green Track (September 11) or the Yellow Track (November 8).
Master Emmanuel Pobee and Master Daniel Coffie from Bubiashie, Accra, said they were both given placements alright, but only the code numbers of their schools appeared without the names; adding that, they were in the Gold Track.
Master Jacob Apam from Obuasi, said he was placed as a day-student at the Armed Forces SHS at Burma Camp in Accra, but he prefers a boarding school.
Master Richard Eduful told the GNA that he was placed at the Academy of Christ the King in Cape Coast but there was no indication of the track and whether he was going to be a day student or a boarder.
An official at the Placement Resolution Centre for the Double-Track system, declined to speak to the media.
