Accra April 19, GNA - The United Press for Development Network and EduEnter Group Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation has announced the second edition of the Ghana Media Development Conference (GMDC) to be held on Saturday April 28, at Knutsford University College, East Legon.
The conference is on the theme: “Media, Converging in Thought to Create a New Ghana/Africa”.
A statement signed by Mr Kofi Asante Mensah, Principal Servant, United Press for Development Network and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the seminar was crafted to bring together members of the inky fraternity and aimed at providing cutting edge modern expertise and innovative media training (capacity building) and information to empower, build, motivate them through carefully selected Speakers.
The statement said the process of communication had evolved since the inception of devices that had accounted for easy message transfer mitigating errors that occurred traditionally.
"Media is considered to be the most vital and powerful component as it deals with information which is required to be adequate and timely imparted.
"The Media Development Conference is believed to serve as that platform for knowledge transferring in relevance to the future of Media and Mass Communication in Ghana", the statement said.
The statement said the conference which would witness the participation of the members of the inky fraternity, academicians, professionals and industry experts gathering on a single platform to discuss the future prospects in media and mass communication include; speakers namely; Rev Dr Emmanuel Kuku Biney, CEO, Media 7 Consult Group of Companies; Oheneyere Gifty Anti, Ace Ghanaian Female Broadcaster and Dr Lawyer Nana Oppong, President, Distinguished Scholars of Africa and International Standard Journalists Association.
Others are; Nana Ansah Kwao IV, Chief of Akwamu Adumasa, Ace Broadcaster, Nanayaw Kwakye-Boadu, CEO, EduEnter Group Ghana; Lilian Sally Addo, President, Models Union of Ghana; Sheriff Ghali, President of Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs and Prophet Darko Daniel, Motivational Speaker, Writer and Pastor.
The statement said the Second GMDC is designed to launch an anti-corruption media action dubbed “Media Movement Against Corruption” to empower and deepen understanding of corruption and the role of the Ghanaian media.
It said participants would be honoured with certificates of participation endorsed by the speakers and organisers.
